ALF forum debates the role of specialised financing in economic recovery
The Portuguese Association of Leasing, Factoring and Renting (ALF) has just announced the programme for the ALF Forum, the annual meeting of the specialised financing sector. The 2021 edition, scheduled for May 25th, will take place under the theme "Leasing, Factoring and Renting - Recovery of the Portuguese Economy".
The meeting will take place online, starting at 9am, in an opening session with João Nuno Mendes, Finance Secretary of State, and Alexandre Santos, president of ALF.
At a particularly demanding moment due to the pandemic context, both the Finance Secretary of State and the Planning Minister, Nelson Souza, invited to close the Forum, will provide the Government's vision on the recovery of the Portuguese economy and the potential contribution of Leasing, Factoring and Renting.
At the institutional level, Luís Máximo dos Santos, Vice-Governor of the Bank of Portugal, will address the challenges of supervision and the new Banking Activity Code. Patrick Beselaere, Chairman of the European Leasing Federation, and Hélder Pedro, Secretary-General of ACAP - Associação Automóvel de Portugal, will speak, respectively, about Leasing and Renting trends in Europe and about automobile mobility in 2021. Pedro Brinca, Professor at Nova SBE, will analyse the Portuguese economy in a pandemic context, as well as its future.
Alexandre Santos, Chairman of ALF, believes that "the Forum will take place at a special moment, in a year when the economy is preparing for the day after a disruptive phenomenon, a pandemic that in 15 months has generated transversal constraints on a global scale. We are certain that Leasing, Factoring and Renting will play a very important role in this new phase, and the meeting on the 25th will allow us to foresee how these sectors are positioned in the recovery and revitalisation of the business fabric and national economic activity".
