ALF hosts the first edition of the ALF Padel Cup
The Portuguese Association of Leasing, Factoring and Renting (ALF) will host the first edition of the ALF Padel Cup on 10 October, at Club 7, in Lisbon, an initiative aimed at bringing together members, sponsors and guests for a day of sport, networking and socialising.
The new ALF Padel Cup initiative comprises two different activities, offering participants different ways to take part and engage with the sport:
- Padel Tournament, aimed at players with experience in the sport;
- Learning Clinic, aimed at participants who wish to have their first experience of the sport and learn its fundamentals.
Following the sporting activities, participants will be invited to a social lunch, which will also include the prize-giving ceremony for the tournament winners.
According to Luís Augusto, President of ALF, “the ALF Padel Cup marks a new step in ALF’s commitment to creating opportunities for professionals in the sector to meet through sport, in a relaxed and informal environment. As this is the first edition of the initiative, we want to provide an experience that combines sporting activity with networking and socialising, strengthening the close relationships between the different professionals and organisations that are part of the specialised finance ecosystem.”
By organising the ALF Padel Cup, ALF further reinforces its commitment to initiatives that promote sport, fair play and relationships among professionals in the specialised finance sector, providing opportunities for social interaction outside the professional environment.
The initiative comes at a time when specialised finance is gaining increasing importance and relevance in the Portuguese economy. In 2025, Factoring reached approximately €51.5 billion in receivables purchased, representing a 12.7% increase compared with the previous year. In Leasing, new business exceeded €3.1 billion in financed investments, with Equipment Leasing standing out with 4% growth. Meanwhile, Renting continued to strengthen its presence in mobility, with a managed fleet of more than 147,000 vehicles and over 42,000 new contracts signed during the year.
These indicators reflect the growing importance of specialised finance solutions in supporting companies’ working capital, investment and mobility needs in Portugal.
