Credit Ombudsman and ALF sign cooperation protocol
The Portuguese Association of Leasing, Factoring and Renting (ALF) signed a cooperation protocol with the Credit Ombudsman on 31 March, after its General Assembly and in the presence of its Members. This agreement reinforces the commitment of both organisations to promote a more transparent and informed financial environment, benefiting companies and consumers in terms of access to finance.
Based on an initiative by the Credit Ombudsman, this protocol represents a joint commitment by ALF and Credit Ombudsman to identify the common objectives of both entities, with a view to collaborating in the exchange of information and knowledge, carrying out joint financial education actions and promoting good practices in the specialised financing sector.
Under this agreement, Credit Ombudsman undertakes to collaborate in ALF initiatives focused on financial education in credit matters; to hold regular meetings to monitor joint activities and to publicise the content of the protocol through its website and other institutional means. For its part, the ALF undertakes to regularly share information on sector trends and good market practices; to allow the Credit Ombudsman to take part in ALF initiatives on financial education; to publicise the role and skills of the Credit Ombudsman among its Members; to inform the Credit Ombudsman of opinions issued on relevant legislation and to share the rules of conduct and good banking practices promoted by the ALF.
The aim of this protocol is to encourage the exchange of information between the two entities, to allow closer monitoring of market trends and to contribute to the financial empowerment of clients, both parties recognising that a well-informed client is essential for a more sustainable and efficient financial ecosystem.
