Launch of the study on “Future Trends for Leasing, Factoring and Renting”

The Portuguese Association of Leasing, Factoring and Renting (ALF), together with Deloitte, presented the study “Future Trends for Leasing, Factoring and Renting” on Thursday, November 28. 

The session, which took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Lisbon, was opened by ALF's President, Luís Augusto, and presented by Bernardo Ferrão, Partner at Deloitte and Inês Santos Costa, Associate Partner at Deloitte. 

This event presented a reflection on the main forces that are transforming the market, identifying new opportunities and challenges faced by the Leasing, Factoring and Renting segments, based on the current macroeconomic context and the evolution of the business in recent years. 

It also included a detailed analysis of the main drivers of the rapidly developing digital transformation cycle, the intensification of mobility policies, sustainability and the energy transition. In this context, the aim is to explore potential innovative solutions that can foster the growth of each of the sectors in support of the national economy, referencing the use of illustrative success stories to contribute to the process of reflection in the Portuguese market.

Among the main conclusions is that the key factors for the growth of specialized financing products in the coming years will be adapting to society's new challenges, such as the energy transition, future mobility trends or technological innovation. The growing focus on financing and supporting SMEs should also be a priority for Leasing, Factoring and Renting in Portugal, a country where the rates of use of these products are still lower than in the main European economies.
